Morley Parish Council
Morley lies between Attleborough and Wymondham in South Norfolk, but the visitor may find it confusing because Morley St. Botolph and Morley St.Peter, both with a church, straddle the surrounding fields. Morley has a primary school including a pre-school and breakfast club, a pub “The Buck”, an agricultural station – Morley Research – a village hall, and Wymondham College, which is the largest state boarding school in Europe. (www.wymondhamcollege.org)Morley Parish Council serves both St. Botolph’s and St. Peter’s. The Council normally has seven members who meet on a monthly basis and represent the village on various matters. The meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month except August and December in the Village Sports Hall.
We are the third tier of local government, the other two being Norfolk County Council and South Norfolk District Council. The public is very welcome to attend our meetings and we encourage people to speak during the open forum which is part of each formal meeting. We discuss varying issues which affect the community and are directly responsible for:
- The children’s play area & equipment
- Derek Daniels Playing field
- The Mini Recycling Centre
- Dog Fouling Bins
- War Memorial
- Village Sign
- Church Clock, St Botolphs
- Noticeboards
